We have finally experienced our first winter weather of the season this week and it has been so nice. While Fall is still my favorite season, I do like it when the colder weather arrives. It is a huge relief to us southern folks down here. I like that it finally felt like winter for the first time. I was able to break out my sweaters and jackets and I have really enjoyed it. Earlier in the week, it was still pretty warm and I was able to get out in our common green space area with the kiddos after a few days of rain. If you have a toddler, you know that after a few days of rainy weather, they go nuts. They were so ready to get out of the house and just run – which is exactly what we did.

There has been talk on our local weather station that we may even get a little snow or flurries tonight! I am crossing my fingers that we get to see snow! My kids would love it! They have been asking me for the last month why we don’t have snow here during Christmas like they see on T.V.
In other news, we have been trying really hard to get back on a schedule this week. Hampton started school and Ryan started work and I have been trying to start back as well. I am so far behind on emails, so I’m sorry for my delayed responses, but I am almost caught up now. Getting back into our groove has been tough after having an entire week off, but it is also nice to go back to a schedule and routine. My kids have always done better when on a schedule. Hopefully, we will all be adjusted by next week and I can start really getting after it.
As far as my goals are concerned, I have done really well with my exercises this week and started my cleaning schedule on Monday. I have nearly decided that cleaning my house with kids is a total waste of time. As soon as I mopped the floors, Pippa ran in from outside with muddy paws and Hampton tracked in a ton of grass. So, instead of mopping once a week, it may get done every other week. I am trying to be intentional with my time and cleaning so much seems like a complete waste right now. As much as I would love a clean house, it is going to stay messy for a couple of years. And, that’s okay with me.
As far as my diet…Ryan and I have eaten our fair share of muddy buddies, but I have been eating a lot healthier. I still haven’t lost any weight, so I am praying that happens soon. It is getting pretty frustrating. According to my new fitness tracker and calorie counter on my phone, I should have lost over a pound this week (and that’s not including calories I have burned breastfeeding) yet, the scale still reads the same. Maybe I’m gaining muscle? Who knows, but I’m ready to fit in my pants.
How are your New Year goals and resolutions holding up?

That’s so awesome! I can’t even remember the first snow fall I saw. Growing up in Utah made snow a normal thing. For someone who’s never had that… how cool! I can only imagine.
