It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

December 1, 2016

Christmas is finally here! My kids ( mostly Hamp) are so excited this year which is making it even more fun than it normally is! Hampton is so into every detail. He wanted to decorate the tree “by himself” #threenager, and he loves turning the lights on every night! Sophie has learned a thing or two from watching him. I walked into her eating one of my Auburn ornaments. Yes, eating it. Things are looking up, through. She is now only pulling the ornaments off the tree and no longer eating them. Baby steps, people.

After the kids acted out all weekend, Tuesday turned out to be a much better day. Hampton went back to school which helped get us back on a routine. I got to spend one on one time with my girl while Weston napped and it made all the difference. It definitely reminded me that sometimes, they just need a little extra attention. No phones or cameras or distractions. Just the two of us. So, we finished decorating (or technically, re-decorating) the tree, set out our holiday doormat and played in the playroom for a couple of hours. It did both of us a lot of good. Her behavior was much better and so was Hampton’s which made for a much better day. We needed it!

One rule Hampton and I decided on this week was that the kids would wear Christmas clothes every day until Christmas! He is a mess, that one, but I love his spirit. He loves the holidays as much as I do and that makes it fun. So, we have been looking very festive around here! Sophie’s cute little bloomers and bow are from Bee Mine Sunshine and her adorable shoes were sent to us from Mon Petit Shoes. I love both of these shops so much! That plaid is just too adorable for the holidays and these shoes are so soft and comfortable for her little feet and the perfect color for the fall and holiday seasons. She has really enjoyed wearing them all around and they are so easy for her to play in, wear to church, around the house, etc. We are big fans!

Caleb took a bite out of a fake berry that was a part of the Christmas decorations on our table so I totally feel you on the eating decorations front. #CrazyKids
