My Favorite Diet Trick

January 7, 2016

Everyone is always asking me how I lose weight. Whether it’s after losing 5 lbs. when I need to, or after losing weight after my babies are born, I typically go with the same formula that has always worked for me. I may not be telling you a new diet trick, but it is the one that works for me. I’m not a nutritionist or any type of health professional, but health is very important to me and my family. I have educated myself by reading a lot on health. We just celebrated New Years and weight seems to really be on people’s minds lately.

Diet

So, what is this magical formula that has helped me lose weight? It’s not so magical – diet and exercise. I have always struggled with the diet part a lot more than the exercise part. I love chocolate and pizza and all the fancy coffees of the world, so it has always been tough for me. The thing I finally got through my head was the fact that it is okay to enjoy these things…in moderation. Everything in moderation. I’ve also read that mixing up your diet is one of the best ways to lose weight when you are in a rut.  After having my son, my weightless just seemed to hit a brick wall. I was exercising every day but was no longer losing weight. When I read this, I quickly changed up my diet (even though I was eating relatively healthy) to even healthier changes and I ate different foods. Some of my favorite quick and easy meals are Progresso soups. I love the varieties they offer and at only 100 calories per serving, you just can’t beat it.

Progresso-At-Publix

So, basically my little trick is to eat healthy, exercise regularly and mix up your diet every few weeks. I try to do this about once a month. Every time I feel like I’ve been eating too many salads and not enough grilled veggies, I switch it up. It really does help, so if you’re stuck in a rut, give it a try. In the meantime, Publix has an amazing coupon for Progresso soups!

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Progresso lately and they have a lot of gluten-free options. I think I may have to stock up the next time I go to the grocery store.

I love eating soup! Yesterday I made a pot of home-made chicken noodle soup. But as I don’t always have the time to whip up healthy meals every day, Progresso Soup would be a great option – especially for lunch. I’d love to try their New England Clam Chowder, and Chicken and Dumplings!

I just ate some of their soup for dinner! While I’ve found doing the Whole30 really helped me to lose my baby weight, I’m still a sucker for something quick and easy every now and then!

Thanks for the tips – goodness knows, I need them! We love Progresso soups! My husband finds them at the Dollar Tree ($1.00 buck a can) and I love their minestrone soup – especially this time of year!

Clam chowder has always been my favorite, but I tend to stay away from crazy soups, this would be a great way to have some again!

Love, love Progresso soup. My favorite is chicken with noodles, but I also love the chicken and rice. Yesterday I picked up Chicken with barley because Wal-Mart had it on sale and I haven’t tried that one.

Soups are probably one of the most overlooked sources of food when wanting to lose or maintain weight. Except cream soups. Definitely want to avoid those yummy ones on a diet. 😉

    Great post, Logan.
