How to Balance Your Breakfast

January 18, 2016

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. We’ve all heard it a million times. It’s also the most skipped meal around this house. I’ve gotten in a really bad habit of making a cup of coffee and calling it a day – or breakfast, anyway. I noticed last week that I started feeling really weak during the late morning and decided I needed to start eating breakfast again. Even if it is just a little something. My go-to is fruit, but I also love yogurt! The only problem with fruit is, it’s basically like drinking water. It doesn’t stick with you very long.

When I was at Walmart the other day, I saw the new Plenti Plentiful Greek Yogurt + Oatmeal and was very intrigued. Oatmeal is very filling, but oatmeal + yogurt? hmm…

So, I bought a few and tried it and ding ding, we have a winner! It was delicious and so filling. I added a little fruit on the side and my breakfast was pretty delicious. I also felt much better. After a couple of days of this routine, I can definitely say that I feel a lot better and have more energy to push me through our busy mornings.

In addition to trying this new little combo, this past weekend was a little crazy. We had a full weekend planned and then Sunday morning, Hampton started throwing up before we could even get to church. So, him and I stayed in bed, cuddled and watched Mickey Mouse and Thomas all day. This is crazy for him because he rarely sits still let alone lays in bed all day. Poor little guy. Saturday, we went to see family and then had dinner with some good friends of ours. It was a really wonderful time and perfect timing for such a good relaxing weekend.

Be sure to check out the new Plenti Plentiful Greek Yogurt + Oatmeal for yourself with this coupon!

What did you do this weekend? Have you tried this combo?

This looks great. Usually I only have yogurt and fruit, but around an hour late I’m still feeling peckish. Adding Yogurt to the equation would totally fill me up more. I can’t wait to try it.

I’ve never tried oatmeal with yogurt. However, I do love oatmeal smoothies. Breakfast is really so important. And you are right, you have to eat more than fruit or you’ll feel really empty.

Oatmeal with yogurt. That’s a good idea.

I have Oatmeal every morning. I love it. I always switch it up too – bananas and cinnamon one morning, blueberries and honey the next. I’ll definitely have to try yogurt too. Yum!

I love oatmeal and I love yogurt – so this sounds like a great combo. I’ll need to look for the Plenti brand the next time I go grocery shopping. Thanks for sharing this yummy breakfast solution!

I used to get nauseated if I didn’t eat breakfast. Fast forward ten years and I skip breakfast most days. I really need to get back in the habit. I’m looking forward to trying these.

Hmm I never have been much of an Oatmeal fan, but maybe I need to try it this way — sounds delicious. My breakfasts have been a boiled egg and a piece of bread with a banana for so long now and I could definitely use some switching up. Plus I think my daughter would love this too!
