My baby girl is 8 months old. It is really hard to believe. To me, Hampton’s first year flew by. SR’s has been even faster. It’s funny how that works. I guess when you are a mother of 2, life gets even busier and goes by faster.
Today, I sat down with every intention of writing this post, taking photos of Soph and editing them, scheduling it and starting on Monday’s post. Well, it is now 4:20p.m. and I am just now getting started. That’s life, right? Honestly, most days go about like this. Sometimes, it takes us so long to get ready that it is almost easier to just stay in our PJ’s and call it a day. It has been quite a crazy 8 months since this little princess was born, but it has been the best and most rewarding time of my life.
My beautiful girl has struggled with acid reflux. It has been really stressful because she hasn’t gained weight for the longest time. At one point, she had gone from the 25th percentile to the 3rd in a month and I came home from that appointment and cried and cried. Through it all she has been the happiest and sweetest baby. She isn’t very fussy, she is calm and has the sweetest nature. We don’t go back to the doctor until February, but I can already tell that she is gaining a lot more weight. She looks healthier and her cheeks are finally getting a little chunky. The spitting up is starting to get much better. I have noticed a big difference since around Christmas. We still have good days and bad, but for the most part, she is doing so much better.
This month, Sophie-Rae celebrated her first Christmas. Santa brought her a crawling Minnie Mouse, cell phone, tea party set, and more! She (finally) started crawling, although she does still scoot a lot. She pulled up for the first time on Christmas day and has done it several times since. We started BLW a little more hard core this month and she enjoys green beans, puffs, mashed peas and all of her baby food fruits. She is wearing 6 month clothes because she is so long, but she is still really skinny. I guess she is going to take after her daddy! She smiles all the time which absolutely melts my heart. I can say her name and she will turn and grin at me. It is precious.
I love you, baby girl!

Such a little sweetheart. My oldest had horrible reflux, we went through so much testing, so many different things to try and help her. It was tough. Through it all she was so happy. It started to calm down around 8 months too, and she was over it by a year. If you ever need to talk about it, as I know it impacted me greatly, don’t hesitate.

Thank you so much! That means a lot. It is really tough sometimes. Just tonight she vomited all over me and her and the floor at multiple stores we went to. We were all soaking wet by the time we left. It was pitiful. I’m so glad your little one outgrew it. I am thankful that SR’s is slowing down.
