1. What are you currently reading? Tell us about it!
-I just finished The Girl You Left Behind by Jojo Moyes. Ohh my, so good! I’ll get a review up soon. For now, here is the synopsis from Goodreads:
In 1916, French artist Edouard Lefevre leaves his wife Sophie to fight at the Front. When her town falls into German hands, his portrait of Sophie stirs the heart of the local Kommandant and causes her to risk everything – her family, reputation and life – in the hope of seeing her true love one last time.
Nearly a century later and Sophie’s portrait is given to Liv by her young husband shortly before his sudden death. Its beauty speaks of their short life together, but when the painting’s dark and passion-torn history is revealed, Liv discovers that the first spark of love she has felt since she lost him is threatened…
In The Girl You Left Behind two young women, separated by a century, are united in their determination to fight for the thing they love most – whatever the cost.
2. Do you judge a book by its cover? What cover elements make you not want to pick up a book?
-Most of the time, yes unless I’ve heard really good things about it, then I’ll read it any way. I do look at the cover art because you can actually tell a lot about a book by it’s cover. Some of them do surprise you, though.
3. Do you participate in any other bookish link-ups? Tell us about them so we can join next time!
-I participated in Waiting on Wednesday last week where you share about anticipated releases. It was pretty neat.
4. Have you ever watched a movie that was better than its book version? Explain yourself!
-Nope. Never. In fact, I am starting to dislike seeing a movie after reading the book because they are always a disappointment. The latest movie I saw was Divergent and if you remember from last month’s discussion, I was pretty disappointed in it.
5. Summer is here! Do you read more often during any particular season?
-I usually read more during the Summer and Christmas break, but since having Hampton, I haven’t been able to read quite as much. He’s worth it though. 🙂
6. What is the worst book you’ve read this year? Why?
-I can’t think of any I didn’t like. I’ve read some pretty good ones so far this year. I guess Eleanor and Park was a little bit of a disappointment, but I didn’t dislike it completely. It just wasn’t what I expected. I can’t wait to read everyone else’s answers to this so I can avoid the bad ones.
Let’s be friends on Goodreads!
You may notice that I have a new domain name! I’m in the process of redesigning my blog and I’m leaving Southern Sunflowers and Coffee Beans and becoming Logan Can over the next few days. I will explain and go into more detail later. Please excuse any errors as I make these changes. I am trying to make them with little to no inconvenience for my readers. Thank you for being patient with me. 🙂

Good luck with the rebranding–I've done it once, but luckily, I hadn't gotten that far into blogging yet. I am contemplating a switch to self-hosting later this year, and I find that terrifying just thinking about it!!

Rebranding is hard. I don't want to have to do it. 🙂 I'll have to read your movie reviews, I do them too. 🙂

I loved The Girl You Left Behind! Did you read the little prequel – Honeymoon in Paris? It was really good too! And now I've been working my way through Moyes other books!

I've always been guilty of judging books by their covers. I like getting recommendations from other people too and discovering new books on Goodreads. I am just so in love with Goodreads. The only movie that I liked better than the book is the LOTR series. I only read the first book, but I thought it was kind of boring and didn't make it to the other two. I'm probably the only person who felt that way. I LOVE the movies though!
I found your blog through the Literary Junkies link-up, and I wanted to reach out to you because I love connecting with fellow book lovers! I've created a unique opportunity for people who love books as me called the Summer Book Swap. It's a fun way to connect with bookworms and discover new books.
