Literary Junkies (2)

December 19, 2012

Goings on in Texas

This month’s questions:

1. What are you currently reading? Tell us about it.

-I just started The Distant Hours by Kate Morton. I read The Forgotten Garden by Morton a month ago and it is now one of my favorite books, so I wanted to read something else by her. Since I just started it, I don’t know a lot yet, but there is already an air of mystery which is very exciting.

2. If you could choose any author in the world to write a story based on your life, who would you choose to be the author? Why?

-Easy. Adriana Trigiani. I have fallen in love with her writing style mostly because of the way she writes stories. She writes novels based on her Italian heritage and I love that.

3. Tell us about your favorite place to read.

-My chaise lounge by the fireplace in our home. It’s so comfortable and the perfect chair to cozy up on to get lost in a book. I also like to read on our back porch if the weather is nice.

4. What books would you buy for lovers of
a) chicklit, b) literary fiction, c) classics?

-a) Anything from Nora Roberts, especially her Bride Quartet, any of the Emily Giffin Books (Something Borrowed Series especially).

-b) The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton and The Shoemaker’s Wife by Adriana Triginai have been two of my favorites this year.

-c) Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen,  anything by Charles Dickens, and The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

I would choose Wuthering Heights for a classic fan because it is my favourite book, but Pride and Prejudice would come in a close second. I've been meaning to read The Forgotten Garden for ages now and you've given it suh a good wrap, I might have to take the plunge!
