We spent a beautiful Saturday in Auburn, (home of the War Eagle and Auburn Tigers) with my younger sister who attends school there. It was a wonderful day. We had an indoor picnic (because of rain) and took pictures with Aubie. We enjoyed time with family and friends and later that afternoon we went on a hike through Chewacla State Park. I love Chewacla. It makes me miss living there. If you didn’t know, Ryan and I love to hike. I love being outdoors and working out, so hiking is like a 2 for 1 deal. This was our first mini hike since Hampton has been born and we really enjoyed it. Of course, Hamp was in tow.

After our hike we got cleaned up and went to Toomer’s drugstore for their famous lemonade and then out to dinner at Little Italy (one of our favorite pizza places). It was a great weekend spent with family and friends. Here are a few pictures from our day.

Of course we couldn’t go hiking without Simon.

We can’t be on rocks without doing a little yoga, duh.

What did you do over the weekend?

If you haven’t already read this post, we found out that we are having a little BOY! We are so excited. After finding out the great news on Thursday, we traveled to Jacksonville Beach, Florida for the weekend. On Friday, we enjoyed a 3 mile hike through the trails at Hannah Park. It was so beautiful and peaceful. After our hike we went to the beach and enjoyed some fun in the sun! Who doesn’t love the beach? The best part was that it was not crowded at all where we were. It was nice to be able to really enjoy it on a holiday weekend.

Saturday, we went to the outlet mall in St. Augustine and bought Hampton way too many polos for next year. He’s not going to be spoiled at all. 😉 We had a wonderful time with family and friends. I hope your holiday weekend was just as blessed as mine. Thank you to all of those who have fought for our freedom and continue to do so.

A couple of summers ago, Ryan took me on my first hike (other than through the grand canyon).  It was a very spontaneous trip, so I thought. I was visiting him in Birmingham, where he was living at the time, and so we thought why not? We packed two sandwiches and lots of water and off we went towards Mount Cheaha! North Alabama is absolutely beautiful. The mountains are breathtaking and who knew we had so many waterfalls? The hike itself was pretty short, but we spent a lot of time enjoying the views.

Look at that view! (ow ow hottie!)

As we were walking we came up to this…

We decided to climb it and it was well worth this view…
Top of the waterfall.
As we were walking back to the car, Ryan told me he had a surprise for me. He had tickets to the Jimmy Buffet show in Gulf Shores! The show was to help benefit the victims of the oil spill. It was on the beach, and was a dream come true for me. I’m a huge Parrothead and had never been to one of his concerts. Of course we made a pit stop by my house to freshen up and grab our swim suits. We had so much fun!

This was literally the perfect day. I later found out that he was planning to propose to me that day, but couldn’t because my ring was still being made. He proposed two weeks later. 🙂
