yoga-during-pregnancy

Staying fit while pregnant is anything but easy. During the first part of pregnancy, you are dealing with morning sickness, soreness, and tiredness. During the last part of pregnancy, many of those symptoms come back to haunt you, on top of a lot of discomfort from your body stretching and changing to accommodate that sweet baby you’re carrying. Staying motivated to work out during all of this can be tough.

During my first pregnancy, I didn’t exercise all that much, and I felt it. My hips and back were sore all the time and I just felt bad. I didn’t feel like myself. This time around I have really relied on pregnancy safe exercises – my favorite being yoga since I have had to quit running. Yoga has kept me flexible, strong and feeling more energized this time around. It also gives me a nice break from walking outside. Some days, it is just too cold, and lately it has been raining a lot, so staying indoors has been a nice alternative.

stayfree

I recently discovered an exciting collaboration between Stayfree and Gaiam T.V. that I mentioned in this post. I ran to Target to grab some Stayfree Ultra Thin pads (because I will need them in a few weeks anyway) and I uploaded my receipt to Stayfree’s website and received a free 30 day trial of My Yoga videos. I have really been enjoying learning and brushing up on all of these basic moves and practicing them during Hampton’s nap time. I love these pads and will definitely be needing them in a few weeks after I have my baby. No leaks for this mama, thank you! Be sure to check out this deal now through March 12th!

Whether I am outside enjoying nature or in my living room, yoga has been the best way for me to de-stress, take some time for myself and stay healthy during my second pregnancy.

Some other changes that have made my pregnancy healthier and easier:

-Drinking more water
-Resting as much as possible
-Exercising every day
-Stretching/Yoga
-Eating healthier

What are some ways you stayed healthy during your pregnancy?

I received product for this post but opinions are 100% my own (as per usual).

Maxi Dress: Pink Blush here // Scarf: Madewell here

Maybe it’s the name of the store, maybe it’s the amazing fashion that makes me feel like I can still be attractive while gaining loads of weight, I’m not sure, but Pink Blush Maternity is by far my latest pregnancy craving. They have the cutest clothes. A lot of them I can definitely seeing myself wearing throughout my entire pregnancy and even after. Most maternity clothes make you feel pregnant, you know what I mean? These are actually cute and stylish and I would wear them even if I weren’t pregnant.

I have been wanting a long sleeve maxi dress for some time now, and when I came across this one, I knew I had to have it. It is loose enough so that I can wear it through the end of my pregnancy. It is classy, chic and simple which is exactly how I would describe my style. Not to mention it is extremely comfortable. Add a vest, scarf, or chunky necklace to dress it up and you can wear it for any occasion. I love how diverse it is and I will probably live in this maxi for the next 4 months. Speaking of, I can’t believe I’m almost 24 weeks pregnant. Time needs to slow down because this mama has a lot of work to do before baby #2 shows up. Whew.

If you aren’t pregnant, Pink Blush has an entire non-maternity section just for you. I am kind of crushing on this lace dress. You’re welcome. 🙂

I also have a pair of their leggings that are amazing and their accessories are adorable. I can’t say enough good things about this store. I will definitely be purchasing more pieces from them in the future.
