Valentine’s Day Outfit Inspiration

January 19, 2016

I’m still trying to get over the fact that it is 2016, yet everywhere I look, everyone is already talking about Valentine’s Day! Where is the time going? Seriously. At this rate, I’ll be 30 in less than 3 years. Oh, wait…

I have been seeing the cutest red and pink dresses, heels and accessories lately and I kind of want them all. Pink is right up my alley and I like to wear red fairly often. I’ll be honest though, I am still loving all things gold and glittery this year. Gold is my color. Here are a few pieces I’m loving for Valentine’s Day this year:

Invested In My Boots

January 13, 2016

It’s no secret around here that I have a slight obsession with boots. Furry boots, ankle boots, knee boots, rain boots – I love them all! They are my weakness. A beautiful weakness. For Christmas, I splurged and bought a pair of Sorel boots and they have exceeded all of my expectations. They are comfortable and waterproof which is great. They are also great for all of the snow we get here in Alabama (I kid). But if I do ever take that ski trip I’ve been thinking about, they will be the first thing I pack.

It’s the Holiday Season

December 23, 2015

I can’t believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve! The holiday season is upon us and we have a fun day planned starting off with Christmas with my in-laws and then going to see Christmas lights with my little sister! After that, we will be getting the kids in bed so that Santa can come visit them and put certain things together under the tree! 😉

It has felt very wintery the last few days…until today. It has been warm and rainy. I am super bummed because it is supposed to be around 80 degrees on Christmas Day. I guess that means no fire in the fireplace for us this year, but that happens more often than you know here in Alabama. I am so looking forward to the festivities over the next few days! I can’t wait to see the look on my children’s faces when they see what Santa brought them, and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us in the new year! We are so blessed and continue to find joy and peace in Christ every day. What more can you ask for than that?

This week, my best friend had her baby girl and my cousin found out the gender of her twins! They are boy/girl wins! I can’t wait to meet these precious babies! I am so thankful for these huge gifts this holiday season.

Dressing the Bump + Teething Pains

January 28, 2015

Cardigan: The Loft

Leggings: Boutique
Boots: Shoe Station

This pregnancy I have been determined not to buy maternity clothes. I have actually bought a couple pairs of pants for work/church, but for the most part, I have done really well just working with what I’ve got. Thank goodness leggings and tunics are in style. They have really been my go-to.

I found this open cardigan at The Loft, a.k.a. my obsession over the holidays and bought it with some of my Christmas money. I have worn it every other day since. Not kidding. It feels like a sweatshirt and is so comfortable. It’s also long enough to wear with leggings and actually cover my badonk! Win/win.

So, Hampton has his 8th tooth (and maybe more?) coming in right now. For the last week he has not been himself at all. He has had a fever off and on, runny nose, not sleeping etc. but he has also started pitching fits. I know it’s because he is in pain, but wow, I wasn’t expecting that for a few more months. He will literally throw himself in the floor and start screaming and hitting at me. It has been so tough and very tiring. I have given him Tylenol as he needs it, but that seems to make him even more grumpy. Teething has definitely gotten worse as he has gotten older.

Have any of you experienced this with your young toddlers? Do you have any advice on how to manage his pain and tantrums?

Pink Blush: My Latest Pregnancy Craving

January 7, 2015

I received product for this post but opinions are 100% my own (as per usual).

Maxi Dress: Pink Blush here // Scarf: Madewell here

Maybe it’s the name of the store, maybe it’s the amazing fashion that makes me feel like I can still be attractive while gaining loads of weight, I’m not sure, but Pink Blush Maternity is by far my latest pregnancy craving. They have the cutest clothes. A lot of them I can definitely seeing myself wearing throughout my entire pregnancy and even after. Most maternity clothes make you feel pregnant, you know what I mean? These are actually cute and stylish and I would wear them even if I weren’t pregnant.

I have been wanting a long sleeve maxi dress for some time now, and when I came across this one, I knew I had to have it. It is loose enough so that I can wear it through the end of my pregnancy. It is classy, chic and simple which is exactly how I would describe my style. Not to mention it is extremely comfortable. Add a vest, scarf, or chunky necklace to dress it up and you can wear it for any occasion. I love how diverse it is and I will probably live in this maxi for the next 4 months. Speaking of, I can’t believe I’m almost 24 weeks pregnant. Time needs to slow down because this mama has a lot of work to do before baby #2 shows up. Whew.

If you aren’t pregnant, Pink Blush has an entire non-maternity section just for you. I am kind of crushing on this lace dress. You’re welcome. 🙂

I also have a pair of their leggings that are amazing and their accessories are adorable. I can’t say enough good things about this store. I will definitely be purchasing more pieces from them in the future.

Winter Trends

Jacket: c/o Oasap here

Booties: DSW here

Today, I wanted to share some of my favorite fashion trends for this winter! First off, I love that lipstick is so in. I love the added color to a woman’s face and the way it makes those pretty lips pop. It makes every woman look so glamorous. I also love that it keeps me from looking like a pale white snowman during the winter months by adding color to my face. 🙂

I’m also love love loving plaid. This is definitely not a new thing for me. I’ve been dressing in plaid since…well, birth. Maybe it’s a southern thing? I don’t know, but I do know that I love how popular it has become and that it is so easy to find. I’ve never owned a plaid jacket but was determined to find one this season. I finally found the perfect one! It is partially fleece lined and partially quilted inside. Best of all, it is very pregnancy friendly! I am 20 weeks along and still have some room to grow! This is a jacket I will have for years. I’m kind of obsessed!

What is your favorite trend this winter season?
