Ryan and I met when a mutual friend invited us on a very spontaneous trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee for New Years in 2007/2008. I was 19 years old and the last thing on my mind was meeting my future husband, however, that is exactly what happened.

Gatlinburg wasn’t exactly magical, but we really clicked and became good friends. We arrived back home and three days later, he pulled out his guitar. Yep, it was over for me. I fell head over heels for this 22 year old singer/politician/guitar player and more importantly, Auburn fan! We dated for almost 3 years and on July 17, 2010 he surprised and shocked me by asking the question! Obviously I said YES!

We had a 15 month long engagement and realized about 3 months in that 15 months was far too long, but by then it was too late. We waited, planned, tasted cake, waited, and waited. Finally, the day came! On October 8, 2011 I married the man of my dreams! I know that is so cliche, but it is true. He has every quality in a man I always dreamed of. When in doubt, trust God. He definitely knew what He was doing by bringing us together. His timing was perfect.

We were married in Auburn (God’s country) at sunset and it couldn’t have been a more perfect wedding full of family, friends, sunflowers, food and of course, music. I’ve been so blessed with a wonderful husband and partner in this life. I don’t know what I would do without him.
