Immeasurably More

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,” Ephesians 3:20


How powerful is this verse? Back in September, I started BSF (Bible Study Fellowship). Many of you have probably heard of it because this bible study is worldwide. It is so neat to think that women in France or England are studying the exact same thing we are here in Alabama. It unites us, in a way. We have been studying the book of Revelation, and it has made a huge impact on me. I have read through Revelation a few times, but I have never really studied it like this before.

Through this study, it has opened my eyes to see that here on earth, nothing matters. I’ve always been the type of person who would get my feelings hurt very easily and then want nothing to do with the person who hurt me anymore. It’s a bad habit that I am constantly working to break because I know people are only human and we all make mistakes. These mistakes don’t mean anything when paired with eternity and our souls. When you think about life from this perspective, it just doesn’t matter.

What matters is if you are loving God and loving people. Speak life into people because too many times a day we are speaking hurtful and negative words to people or hearing them spoken to us and it is discouraging. It gets people down. We need to build each other up. We need to be spreading the gospel every day because in the end, the gospel, God, Christ, Eternity, that’s all that matters. 


Isn’t it encouraging that God is immeasurably MORE than we can even imagine? That’s saying a lot because in my mind, He is everything. God is bigger than that guy joking on the way your kid talks or the woman criticizing the way you dress. He holds us and cares for us, but above all even through the pain and sadness we must put him through when we behave badly, He loves us through it all, unconditionally.

20 Verses to Pray Over Your Husband

I am a firm believer in the power of prayer and praying verses. Prayer is our direct line of communication to God and what an amazing gift is that? We don’t even have a direct line to the President of our small little country, but we do have one to God. The one who created everything. How powerful is that? It is very humbling to think about. Now, imagine if we never used this incredible gift? Through prayer, God can heal, protect, encourage, save, and perform miracles. In Mathew 7:7 God says “Ask and you shall receive. Seek and you shall find…”

Marriages are failing all over this country at an alarming rate. It makes me so sad. People do not view marriage in the same way that we are called to by our Lord. It’s time we change this. It is time we put God back in our marriages, and what better way to do this than to pray for our spouses? Here are 20 verses to pray over your husbands. You will both be so thankful that you did and blessed. Praying for your husband is the best gift you could ever give him.

Verses to Pray Over Your Husband:

-That God will bless his work and finances. (3 John 1:2)
-That God will bring him through temptations. (1 Corinthians 10:13)
-For his health. (Jeremiah 33:6)
-That God will continue to allow him to lead our family the way He desires. (1 Corinthians 11:3)
-That he will grow spiritually. (Ephesians 3:17-19)
-That he will have patience. (Romans 12:12)
-That he will love his wife as Jesus loves the church. (Ephesians 5:25)
-That he will be courageous in his stand against evil.(Ephesians 6:13)
-That he will constantly pray and seek God.(James 5:16)
-That he will surround himself with encouraging people who will lift him up. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
-That he will humbly serve others. (Acts 20:35)
-That he will raise his children to know and love the Lord. (Proverbs 22:6)

-That he will find peace in the Lord during times of stress. (Psalm 55:22)
-The he will choose to speak life into people through positive and encouraging words. (Proverbs 18:21)
-That he will have a humble, teachable spirit. (Proverbs 15:33)
-That he will find wisdom in Christ. (James 1:5)
-That he will be faithful to his wife and marriage. (Genesis 2:24)
-That he will recognize lies of the enemy and remain steadfast. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)

Love and Marriage

I’ve been talking a lot about pregnancy in my corner of the internet for a while now because that is the stage of life I am in. It is important to me that I also focus on my marriage, no matter what else is happening in my life. When it comes to priorities, my husband is second only to God. Our relationship is extremely important not only for our health and happiness but also for our children’s well-being.

I recently started a devotional by Kay Arthur called A Marriage Without Regrets. It was recommended to me by another Alabama blogger, Kalyn. I am so grateful for her because this is a study I needed to be doing right now. Please visit Kalyn’s blog. She is so inspirational and encouraging.

In the 5th chapter, we discussed love in marriage and Kay reads from Ephesians 5:25-33 which says:

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her26 to make her holy, cleansing[b] her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— 30 for we are members of his body. 31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”[c] 32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

This talks a lot about love and the commands that God gives to husbands on how to love their wives. As wives, we are also called to love and respect our husbands in this way. Kay talks about the fact that love is not just an emotion, it is a choice. You hear all the time about how people are divorcing because they “just don’t love each other anymore.” Can I just say that that’s bull? If love were just an emotion, it would not be a command. Love is so much more. Kay lists out:

Love requires action.
Love demands deeds.
Love wills.
Love acts.
Love moves on behalf of it’s object.

I believe we can apply this not only in our marriages but also in our relationships with our families and friends.

If you are interested in doing a devotional on marriage, I highly recommend this book. It has caused me to refocus my attention and actions on my husband in a very positive way. It is very encouraging and the prayers at the end of each chapter are beautiful. I’m so blessed to have a wonderful marriage with God in the center of it, but we could all use time to refocus on our marriage, daily.
