Potty Training Tips and Advice From Mom Bloggers

The other day, I asked my followers on Instagram What their best potty training tips were and boy did they deliver! Some of it I had heard before, but a lot of it was new to me. Potty training can be so hard and frustrating, but one thing I have learned from others is that every child is different and learns at the own pace and in very different ways.

Potty Training Tips From Mom Bloggers

We started trying to potty train months ago, but Hampton has really regressed and we are running out of time before our third baby arrives. At this point, we may have three in diapers – at least part of the time, but I’d like to get him potty trained before we are thrown into the newborn phase again. I don’t see us doing both at the same time. Just being real, here. So, we are going to start the three-day method on Friday and see if it works out for him over the weekend. I am going to apply a few other tips you guys gave me as well and see if a combo and serious consistency does the trick.

Cottonelle Fresh Care Wipes

One thing I have loved having around are Cottonelle® FreshCare® Flushable Cleansing Cloths. I leave a pack in my car, and several in the bathroom and diaper bag. They are wonderful because they are flushable and really come in handy when messes happen. And they happen often around here. So far, that is the only tip I have for you if you are starting to potty train, but here is a list from my awesome followers and fellow mom bloggers and friends:

Potty Training Tips

“Paid him M&Ms every time he sat on the potty. He was really hyper but trained in two days!” –Meli Laine

“We spent an entire day focused 100% on potty training. Exhausting, but worth it.” – Jennifer

Put rubber swim pants over the underwear so they feel wet, but it doesn’t make a mess. – (paraphrased) – Mary

“Don’t rush it based on age or what other people say! Wait until they are ready.” – Jordyn

Eliminate all iPad and Phone-playing time unless he uses the potty. (paraphrased) – Kayla

Reading him The Little Engine Who Could is strangely applicable. My son would say “I can’t, I can’t” so reading that book helps him think positive. (paraphrased) – Colleen

Cottonelle at Sam's Potty Training Chart

I am definitely going to try a few of these potty training tips! Hampton goes to school tomorrow, so I am going to try the three day method beginning Friday and I printed a potty training chart here! I am definitely going to keep my Cottonelle® FreshCare® Flushable Cleansing Cloths from Sam’s with me at all times and I will let you guys know how it goes next week!

Thank you to all my mama friends who gave me some great advice! What worked for you?
