When I took a reader survey a few weeks ago, I had an overwhelming response from you saying you wanted to see more fashion posts and blog tips! I thought that was pretty neat because I honestly wasn’t expecting that. I thought I would have more requests for recipes and parenting posts. While I will definitely be sharing all of the above, I thought today would be an appropriate day to share how I go on vacation without missing a beat on the blog because, well, I just got back from a 5 day vacation and over the weekend I had a post go viral. Yep, you read that right. I still had an amazing week on the blog even though I was resting and enjoying family. So, how do I do it?

How to Go On Vacation Without Missing A Beat On Your Blog:
- Schedule posts on social media. I wrote a post a while back on how to appear to be on social media all the time without actually being there. While being present on social media is very important in the world of blogging, it is also a good idea to schedule posts for when you can’t be around as well. This helps reach your audience at different times of day and really helps when you are super busy or on vacation.
- Plan out your posts the week before and double up. I like to write a post a day, but if I know I’m going to be out of town, I try to write 2 post a day the week before I leave so that I have my posts already written and scheduled. I didn’t get all of them written before I went to Florida last week, so I ended up writing one while I was there, but I was able to enjoy the trip and schedule all of the others.
- Take your community with you on your trip. I did this by snapchat-ing our trip. Sometimes I upload a few pictures to Instagram and I always blog about it after the fact, but I am kind of in love with snapchat lately, so I thought it would be fun to snap a few extras and take you guys on vacation with me! (come snapchat with me @logancan) As a blog reader and fan, I love to see other blogger’s snapchats and IG pictures when they go on vacation. It makes me feel like I’m sharing in their vacation and it’s fun!
- Use your apps. That’s why the iPhone was invented, right? Reply to comments (this continues to be my greatest time-management struggle), emails, tweets, its. all from your phone. I tried to catch up on emails and things in the car on our 7 hour drive. I also did a lot of brainstorming during that time and came up with a few ideas for blog posts. Bonus!
Check out where to gain inspiration when you have a serious case of writer’s block! It’s a real thing. It happens to me often.
