I’ve got a very special post for you all, today! I am welcoming one of my favorite bloggers, Ashley from Simply, Ashley!

*************************************************************************

Hey guys! I’m Ashley and I blog over at Simply, Ashley.

I write about being a mom and wife…but not in the most orthodox way…my house is a pretty insane place to be, and I have two of the most crazy people as my blogging muse. My husband, Jake-who also blogs and my daughter, Addie.

Today, though…I am going to talk a little bit about marriage. Most specifically though, my marriage-and how I plan to fail my husband a LITTLE less in 2013.
Here is what I plan to attempt to maybe not do in 2013…

-Possibly I wont take up so much of the bed…because I am told I do that now..ha

-Could I not forget to switch the laundry over? yeah…will I keep forgetting? yes, because I don’t really forget I just hate laundry more than satan. I will make a greater effort not to.
-I will learn to cook something besides spaghetti.
-I will not beg for animals…after we buy a fancy rat.
-I will not cry when sometimes I don’t always get my way even though its unfair because you refuse to see that pretty nails are a necessity and hair dye is not really expensive and yes I want that four dollar coffee.
-I can try to let you have opinions about things too. maybe.
-Well your opinions are just so stupid.
When he doesn’t clean his hair, toothpaste etc up…I will treat him like a man- not a child…even though that is not man behavior.
-In 2013 I will research better manipulation techniques..and practice cursing under my breath more quietly…and maybe teach Addie to nag..and ask for things for me…because none of this is going to happen.
What about you?

1. Favorite New Years eve you’ve had before?

-In 2008 I met my husband on NYE! We met through mutual friends in Gatlinburg, TN. when we rented a cabin for a long weekend. That is definitely my favorite.

2. Are you doing anything for NYE this year and if so what?

-We will be driving home from Jacksonville on NYE this year. :/

3. Name a book we should all read come January?

If you haven’t caught on yet, I really loved The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. It was my favorite book this year.

4. What are your new years resolutions?

I have worn glasses since kindergarten. Yep, I was THAT kid…frizzy hair, glasses, blah, blah, blah. I have worn contacts since I was 12 years old and prefer to wear them over glasses most of the time, but sometimes my eyes need a break. They get tired, too. When Firmoo contacted me to review a pair of their glasses, I literally had zero expectations. Like most people, I have ordered glasses online before and they were cheap and fell apart within a couple of months. It was a disappointing experience. HOWEVER, when I received my glasses from Firmoo, I was extremely impressed with the quality.

I’ve been wanting some “Zooey Dechanel” glasses for a while now because (aside from Lorelei Gilmore) she is my idol. I love her. So of course I chose these

I know, I know, I look exactly like her.
A little about Firmoo…
Firmoo is an online glasses company selling the latest fashion in glasses and sunglasses, prescription and non-prescription. They are extremely affordable and great quality. Even better? They are now offering YOU a first pair free of charge. You only have to pay shipping. You can’t beat free. You just can’t.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Firmoo.
*Disclaimer: I received these glasses as compensation for an honest review.

A few weeks ago, I promised I’d post my mother’s coveted coffee punch recipe in my Sunday Social post. I can promise you, you will fall in love. I can’t ever get enough of this coffee punch. She makes it for our Christmas party every year, and for my family on Christmas morning. Okay, on to the recipe…

Ingredients:

1) 2oz. jar of instant coffee (decaf or caffeinated)
1) gallon of milk (we use 2% for this recipe)
1) 16oz. can of Hershey’s chocolate syrup
1) half gallon of french vanilla ice cream
(optional) 1/4 cup of sugar (we only use this sometimes, it is pretty sweet without it).

Directions:

Pour instant coffee into a large bowl. Boil about a cup and a half of water and pour it over the coffee, stir to dissolve. Slowly pour in chocolate syrup and milk. Stir well. Scoop 6 to 8 scoops of ice cream and plop it in the bowl. Refrigerate until you are ready to serve. Ice cream will melt on top and make it extra delicious. Before serving, put a few more scoops of ice cream in the punch. Ta Da! Done! and enjoy…

This is my favorite “holiday” drink, although I could possibly drink it every day.

WARNING: you may gain 10lbs.

Every year, my parents host a Christmas party for our entire family. There are quite a few of us so it is always really crazy, loud and so much fun. We normally vote on a theme each year (tacky, pj, etc.) but this year, the girls wanted to do tacky while the boys wanted PJ’s, so my genius cousin came up with the idea to do Tacky PJ! Ergo:

We ate tacos, played games, opened gifts and laughed…a lot.

Reindeer relay game.

I love my sister and cousins!

Our little family! 🙂

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

It’s Wednesday which means I’m linking up with Michelle for another week of Pinterest fun!

Happy Wednesday! I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

Today, Ryan and I are laying around in our PJ’s, watching Christmas movies all day. Tonight we are planning to go look at Christmas lights, and then open our gifts to each other (Eekk).

Tomorrow we have a busy day making our rounds. We will go to my parent’s house tomorrow morning and have brunch with them then we will go to Ryan’s parent’s house to celebrate with them tomorrow afternoon/night.
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! What are your plans?
