cute camera strap

…was the one I didn’t take. Cliche? Well, Hi. My name is Logan and I am addicted to taking pictures. My addiction has grown since having Hampton. It’s really becoming a problem. Ryan has had to empty my phone’s pictures to my computer 3 times in the last 8 months. Do you know how many photos your iphone can hold? A lot. That’s not including the photos on my camera.

Honestly, I’m not ashamed. I meant what I said. I have never regretted a single picture. In fact, I usually leave a moment thinking, I should have taken more. I want to capture every expression and movement of my son because I was to remember everything. I don’t want to forget a single detail.

If you’ve been around my blog for a while, you know that I have a love for all things pretty. iMO camera straps have a collection of fashionable and stylish straps that make carrying around that camera a little more bearable and even fun! I absolutely love my new strap and have been using it for nearly a week now. It is comfortable to wear and extremely good quality. It’s much softer than the strap that came with my camera, plus, it’s pretty. iMO has a great variety of straps that will fit any personality. I had a really hard time picking one out because I wanted all of them. Check them out on Facebook!

This vest is so much fun. I am loving the crochet look this summer. I love this vest because I can throw it on over any of my tanks and it adds that extra layer without making me sweat bullets. I am in Alabama, you know.

Do you take a lot of photos? What is your favorite summer trend?

wedding guest

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been invited to many weddings this year. So many people love to get married in the summertime. I absolutely love weddings and celebrating love.  Here are some tips on how to be the perfect wedding guest. In case you were wondering.

RSVP by the specified date.

Don’t Complain. Even if the food is terrible, the dress is ugly, and everyone around you is complaining, no one likes a complainer.

Take a gift. Definitely use their registry to insure that it is something they will actually like/want/use.

Don’t be late. Ever.

Don’t wear white. Although I love wearing white in the summertime, you should never wear it to a wedding. This may seem trivial, but I’ve already seen it done at a couple of weddings this season.

Now on to appropriate attire. I love this chiffon dress en creme. Some may say not to wear tan/cream, but I think it is definitely acceptable. It’s light and airy and perfect for those hot outdoor weddings.

Of course Hampton had to get in a picture!

Things have been pretty crazy around here the past few days. We went to the beach with Ryan’s family and stayed an extra night. We didn’t get home until Monday night and so my week has been a little thrown off. It was a much needed vacation. I enjoyed the time away from work and my computer in general. It’s so important to spend time with family as often as possible. The older I get, the more I realize that. I can’t wait to share all about our vacation later on!

pink chiffon shirt
I’m obsessed with this pink chiffon bowknot blouse! It is so comfortable and perfect for a night out with the girls! I love anything with a bow, so this top is pretty perfect. It comes in several colors but I had to get it in pink, of course.

1. What are you reading? Tell us about it!

I just started reading The Devil Wears Prada. It is one of my favorite movies and I have never read the book, so I thought it was time, especially because Ryan bought me the sequel a couple of months ago! I wanted to read this one first because I know how different movies are from the books, and this is no exception. It is really different so far, but so good! Definitely a must read for every fashion lover!

2. Do you find yourself reading more of a particular genre during the heat of summer?

I like to read light-hearted things because I read serious stuff all day and it’s nice to relax with a book that doesn’t make me think too much. I do love classics and historical books as well, but during the summer, it’s nice to focus on reading “fun” books.

3. Who are your favorite book villains (either to love or to hate?)

Miranda Priestly, obviously. And because I can’t think of another one right now…

4. If you could choose one author’s writing powers to harness, who would you choose and why?

Jane Austen. Because, she’s Jane Austen.

5. Do you read one book at a time, or read multiple books at once?

I’ve tried reading multiple books at one time, but I always end up focusing on one more than the other. I do however have one book on my kindle and one paperback book going at the same time. I like to read my kindle when I run on the elliptical or bike. The rest of the time, I read my book.

6. What are some of your favorite non-fiction books?

I don’t read non-fiction.

1. You will think about someone else a million times a day.

2. You have an all new respect for your parents.

3. New challenges arise every day.

4. Poop and vomit no longer phase you.

5. You will look like an absolute fool just to see a smile on that sweet face.

6. You have a new-found inner strength.

7. You’ll listen to an hour of Sesame Street every day for a little bit of peace.

8. Your belongings are no longer just yours.

9. Your showers and potty breaks are now communal (yes, I said potty)

10. You have more love and joy in your life than you ever thought imaginable.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
April, 2014 Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers

Page: 368

Synopsis from Goodreads: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is the story of Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes, but instead wrote each boy a letter about how she felt, sealed it, and hid it in a box under her bed. But one day Lara Jean discovers that somehow her secret box of letters has been mailed, causing all her crushes from her past to confront her about the letters: her first kiss, the boy from summer camp, even her sister’s ex-boyfriend, Josh. As she learns to deal with her past loves face to face, Lara Jean discovers that something good may come out of these letters after all.

Are we friends on Goodreads?

My Thoughts: I loved this book! When I first started it, I thought it seemed a little young for me, but I couldn’t put it down. It was a captivating story and I am thrilled there will be a sequel. This isn’t your typical “love story” and it leaves you on a bit of a cliff hanger. It’s actually unpredictable at times which I love. I admire a book that can surprise me. If you have a sister, you’ll love this novel. If you have ever written a love letter, you will identify with this story. I can’t wait to read book #2 (coming April 2015)! I gave this book 4 stars.

I’m a little bit of a girly girl. I love clothes. What better motivation to workout than to buy some cute workout outfits? I can wear this if I exercise? Deal! I have found that getting up every morning and putting on my workout clothes helps motivate me to get the workout in because I’m already dressed for it, right? It’s been a huge help, especially on mornings when I don’t feel like going for a run or walk.

When we were in Chicago a couple of weeks ago, I bought these sports bras and w/o shirt at Victoria’s Secret. They were having a sale, so I got them at half off! Score!

I’ve still been sticking to the Tone It Up weekly fitness schedule and I’m BEGGING Ryan to get me the nutrition plan for my birthday next month. I have heard so many great things about the program and I want to try it out for myself. I would love to have a set meal plan/grocery lists/recipes right in front of me. It would save me a lot of time hunting for healthy recipes to steer me away from the meat and veggies we usually eat every night. It’s not a bad routine, but it gets old after a while and I like to change things up a bit.

What motivates you to get that workout in?

Sandals Under 25
I am all for cute summer sandals that don’t break the bank. I actually bought #9 recently and LOVE them! They are so comfortable and go with everything. Plus, they’re so fun! The weather down south is so hot and humid that I basically live in flip flops and sandals during the summer months (when I’m not barefoot).

Is my itty-bitty newborn baby really 8 months old? Say it isn’t so!

Hampton,

You are growing up way too fast for mommy. This month you started crawling and pulling up on everything! You love cords, hair and anything you can chew on. You have also started climbing everything, which is a little scary considering you are so tiny and aren’t quite strong enough. You are a very determined little booger. You weigh 19 pounds and are still wearing size 9 month clothes. I do love to put you in big t-shirts. You love to watch The Cat in the Hat and Thomas the Train. Your favorite toys are your Thomas train and your Daniel Tiger (that you sleep with). You got your first tooth (finally, whew) and your second one is coming in now! You have grown so much and have changed a lot this month. You are talking a lot more and you laugh all the time. You have the sweetest hardy chuckle that makes everyone smile. Your nursery workers at church love you to pieces and I get compliments on your excellent behavior every week. You must get that from your daddy. You reach for us all the time now and you are going through a phase where you always want to be held. I really don’t mind it and actually would love for you to be like this for a while, but I hear that will change pretty soon, so I’m trying to take it all in, every moment.

I love you my little prince.
