Pretty in Pink

Things have been pretty crazy around here the past few days. We went to the beach with Ryan’s family and stayed an extra night. We didn’t get home until Monday night and so my week has been a little thrown off. It was a much needed vacation. I enjoyed the time away from work and my computer in general. It’s so important to spend time with family as often as possible. The older I get, the more I realize that. I can’t wait to share all about our vacation later on!

I’m obsessed with this pink chiffon bowknot blouse! It is so comfortable and perfect for a night out with the girls! I love anything with a bow, so this top is pretty perfect. It comes in several colors but I had to get it in pink, of course.

4th of July Weekend

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend and enjoyed your time off! We celebrated lots of family birthdays, laid by the pool, watched fireworks, ate bar-b-que, and had a lot of fun spending time with family. My favorite thing about the holidays this year is that they are Hampton’s first. I loved dressing him in patriotic outfits and seeing his face watching fireworks for the first time. It is all so precious. I just can’t get enough of him.

I scored this awesome beach bag at Books-A-Million. Yes, you read that right. I spent so much and got this bag for $4! Not too bad!

I am all for cute summer sandals that don’t break the bank. I actually bought #9 recently and LOVE them! They are so comfortable and go with everything. Plus, they’re so fun! The weather down south is so hot and humid that I basically live in flip flops and sandals during the summer months (when I’m not barefoot).

Casual Kimono + Mint Sunglasses

I’m loving the casual look lately. It is so much easier with a baby that I’m constantly chasing around. Remember I said that he is scooting everywhere? Well, he is also pulling up on EVERYTHING. It is terrifying and adorable at the same time. He is still so young to be doing that and his muscles just aren’t quite strong enough to keep him up without falling and hitting something. Hence the chasing him around everywhere.

It’s no secret I’m loving kimonos lately. They are awesome! I love throwing one over a tank when I need a more casual look than a cardigan or blazer. They are so lightweight and perfect for summer.

I am so excited about our upcoming July 4th weekend! My whole family gets together most every year and hangs out by my parents pool. We cook out and have so much fun with all of our cousins and all of the babies. We laugh, grill, eat, swim, talk and have a great time. I always look forward to spending time with everyone and seeing how much the kids have grown. I’m also excited for the time off of work and being able to relax. It will be wonderful!

I love all of these 4th of July accessories and thought they would be perfect for the holiday! I am bummed that I just ran across that hat because I would have definitely ordered it for myself if it could get here on time. Is it not adorable?

I have been needing a new shoulder purse so bad! They are perfect for traveling and so easy to carry. They free up your arms making them really convenient. This lavender purse is so adorable and it’s the perfect size. Not too big, not too small! The teal floral shorts are so comfortable and I love the bright colors. They are perfect for the summer months. I love fun shorts.

Speaking of traveling, Ryan and I are on our way home from Chicago probably as you’re reading this. We came here on Wednesday and have been here for a conference, but we came a little early so that we would have plenty of extra time to explore the city. We have had so much fun and I can’t wait to tell you all about our trip next week! I’ll also include a photo of where I am writing this post because I’m swooning. Two words: window seat. I’m seriously in love with these pants. They are so comfortable it’s like wearing pajamas, except I’m actually dressed. Meaning, these are the perfect mom pants, ladies! The hat is so adorable I can’t even stand it. I’ve been looking for a straw floppy hat to take with me to the beach in a couple of weeks and then I found this one! It is amazing. It also comes in several colors. I love the bow on the side. It gives it the perfect touch.

This outfit is getting me in the mood for a beach vacation! 2 weeks and counting! It can’t get here soon enough! Laying in the sun on a sandy beach with un bon livre is just what I need in my life.

Chambray + Pink Circle Skirt

Over the weekend, we laid by the pool, I read a great book, and we spent a lot of time with our families. Father’s Day was a good one and all of the men in my life were definitely spoiled a little bit, but they deserve it. I am so blessed with a wonderful husband, dad, FIL and the most kind-hearted brother. I love them all so much and I’m so proud of the fathers they are to their children.

The Perfect Summer Wedges

Can you believe that the first day of summer is only 1 week away? Honestly, I can. The temps down here have been pretty brutal already.

I am semi-tall for a girl at 5’6. I usually pass half of the guys in my church or am at least eye to eye with them when I wear my 4″ heels. I rarely buy heels that are shorter than 4″ because I’ve found that that is a pretty standard ‘pretty shoe’ height. I try not to let the height thing bother me, because I do love to wear them often. I love wedges for summertime. They are easy to walk in for all of those outdoor summer weddings and graduations. I seem to always have trouble finding the perfect summer wedge heels shoes, so I have compiled a list of a few of my favorites while perusing the internet.

Dreaming of the Weekend in Boho
