Spring Break is the perfect excuse to sleep in (if you don’t have kids) and read as much as you want to or catch up on books you’ve been lingering on forever. I always take advantage of time in the car or when the kids are napping to dive into a good novel. I’ve listed some great vacation books below: some I have read, some are new releases!
18 Books You Should Read 2018
This continues to be one of my favorite posts to write every year and one of my top-performing posts as well, which means you guys love it, too! That makes me so happy and makes it that much more fun to put together! Last year I did not have a lot of time to read. If I’m being honest, I only finished one book all year. Pathetic. So, this year, I have already cracked the books, done my research and put together this list of books you simply must read this year! Cheers to reading ALL the books in 2018!
First up…
I just started First Comes Love by Emily Giffin. It is so good so far and I am falling in love with the characters. I started it last year, but life and kids happened, so I put it down and never picked it back up. I started it again over the weekend and I love it! So, I am adding it to my list. She is, after all, one of my favorite authors.
15 Books to Read Before the End of the Summer
I have not had as much time to read lately as I would like to, but reading still remains my favorite past time. I have been getting lots of questions about what I’m reading and what’s on my reading list, so I thought it would be fun to share that with y’all today. If I had more time to read right now, these are the books that would be at the top of my list to read before the summer ends. In fact, I am about half way through these first two books right now and they are so good! …
17 Books To Read in 2017
I think this is one of my favorite posts of the year. Why? Well, I LOVE to read. It has always been my favorite pass time. Getting lost in a good book is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the every day. After a lot of perusing the new books releasing this year, I have pulled out the ones I am most looking forward to reading! Also, a few old titles to catch up on if you haven’t read them yet.
I’ll be honest, when I was looking at last year’s post: 16 Books to Read in 2016, I realized I didn’t even read half of the titles I had planned on. Of course, we also weren’t exactly planning on having another baby this past year, either. Life sure is funny that way. This year, maybe I will have more time to read and travel. I can normally finish a book when we are road tripping some place and I am planning to travel a good bit more with our family this year.
5 Books To Read This Holiday Season
I love to read, but I haven’t had a lot of time to dive into books this year. With the arrival of our new baby and moving, I feel like I won’t have a lot of time to read before the new year, but I am going to really put forth effort. It truly is my favorite pastime and I have always enjoyed reading. Here are a few holiday-related and non-holiday books to add to your reading calendar this month!
The Weekenders by Mary Kay Andrews
The Weekeners by Mary Kay Andrews
Synopsis from Goodreads: Some people stay all summer long on the idyllic island of Belle Isle, North Carolina. Others come only for the weekends-and the mix between the regulars and “the weekenders” can sometimes make the sparks fly. Riley Griggs has a season of good times with friends and family ahead of her on Belle Isle when things take an unexpected turn. While waiting for her husband to arrive on the ferry one Friday afternoon, Riley is confronted by a process server who thrusts papers into her hand. And her husband is nowhere to be found.
So she turns to her island friends for help and support, but it turns out that each of them has their own secrets, and the clock is ticking as the mystery deepens…in a murderous way. Cocktail parties aside, Riley must find a way to investigate the secrets of Belle Island, the husband she might not really know, and the summer that could change everything.
Told with Mary Kay Andrews’ trademark blend of humor and warmth, and with characters and a setting that you can’t help but fall for, The Weekenders is the perfect summer escape.

16 Books You Should Read In 2016
One of my favorite posts every year is when I share the books I plan to read. Why? Because I love to read and I put a lot of thought into what I want to read every year. After all, there are only so many months in a year and I have two babies, so there isn’t as much time for reading these days as I’d like and I want to make sure that the books I enjoy are worth the read.
