Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all. – Helen Keller
I am so so so excited to finally tell you all that we bought a house! It is pretty crazy how the whole thing came about and the timing of it was such a God thing. I don’t even know where to begin. Well, yes I do…

The day after this blog post went live (granted when I wrote it, it was late Sunday night), we put an offer in on a house that we had been to see 3 times over the last 6 months. That’s right. Before our house even sold, we went to look at this house. It had everything on our wish list and then some, but it is an older home, so we knew we would have to do some updates on it which sort of scared us away for a while. After looking at it 2 more times, thing a contractor over there and having the house inspected (with no major set backs, thank God!) we decided to pull the trigger. We put a really low offer in on the house thinking they would either be offended and walk away or counter. To our surprise shock and amazement, they accepted our offer. No counter or anything. Just accepted!
I wanted to wait a week or so to let it sink in and make sure everything was really going to happen before telling you about it. We are so beyond excited and thrilled to be staying in our hometown and to embark on this daring adventure. We don’t close until March, so we still have a bit of a waiting period, but in the meantime, I will be cleaning out and purging as much as I can as well as pinning every bit of home decor, paint colors and more! We will not be moving in until the end of March due to some of the renovations we will be doing. That will also give us plenty of time to paint before all of our things are there which is good. I’ll of course blog updates on the house and show you guys before and after pictures. One of my biggest passions is home decor and hosting people in our home. I’m excited to be in our own house again so that we can have people over but also a clean slate as far as home decor and style.
In our other house, we had a hodge lodge of furniture and “stuff” that we had both brought from our single lives into our house and it didn’t mix well. I’ll looking forward to buying our first dining room table and having the look that I have always wanted. Hands down, the best part of the entire house is that it has a front porch. The first to-do on my list is to hand a swing on it. I have always dreamed of having a front porch and now we have a gorgeous one. It’s more than I could ever have asked for. I am continuing to trust in God’s timing and praying for the rest of this process to go smoothly. I can’t wait to show you our new home soon!

In other news this weekend, I got to go to Target all by my lonesome for the first time in forever I almost didn’t know how to act. haha I stocked up on Valentine’s Day goodies for Ryan and the kiddos. Later that day, we celebrated my sister’s 21st birthday – the big one! It was a really fun time spent with family and reminded me of just how blessed we truly are.
So tell me, what is your favorite asset of your home?
