If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw some of my insta-stories from our vacation! We had such a fun time with Ryan’s family down in Panama City, Florida! We stayed in the cutest pink beach house that was one block from the ocean! It was perfection. After watching the tropical storm roll in throughout the week, we were a little nervous about how much sun we would actually see, but it turned out to be a gorgeous weekend!

We obviously enjoyed beach time every day and even a little pool time with the kiddos, but the highlights of the trip for me, was spending time with family, eating ice cream at Marble Slab for my sister-in-law’s birthday, watching Weston’s reaction to the ocean for the first time and seeing the cousins play together. They were so adorable. A beach trip with 5 kids 5 and under may sound hectic to some, and at times it was, but it was a lot of fun.

While in Panama City, we didn’t have good internet connection, so I tried to stay unplugged. If you haven’t stepped away from social media for a while, I highly encourage you to do it for a day or two. I tried to stay off of it as much as possible and it did me a world of good. It allowed me to really live and be in the moment.
Watching my kids play at the beach never gets old. Hampton is always a little skeptical at first, but warms up when it comes to building sand castles. Sophie is just hilarious. There are no words. She keeps us laughing and has the best sense of humor. She was excited to just be there. Weston is a pretty “chill” baby for the most part, and he hung with our crew pretty well. Especially for it to be his first beach experience. Side note: he is also pulling up on EVERYTHING all of a sudden. It is so bittersweet watching him hit all of these milestones. I with I could freeze time with all of my kids right now while they are still little. Some days are so hard, but others I wish I could keep them just as they are forever and bottle them up. These moments are so fleeting, friends.

I think my absolute favorite day was Saturday. We not only celebrated my SIL’s birthday, but the guys also let us hang out on the beach (KID-FREE) for a couple of hours while they bathed the kiddos and put them all down for naps. It was so wonderful to have a little girl-time and relax for a bit. It doesn’t happen often…or if I’m being honest, ever, these days. So, I was very thankful for that time.

This week, I am thankful for family. I am thankful for time with the ones I love. I am thankful for the time we spent at the beach and playing with our kids without phones and internet for a couple of days. We were present, and that is the only way to be.
What are you thankful for, today?
