It has been a while since I went to a nice dinner with Ryan. He goes to them all the time, but I normally stay home with the kiddos. Last night we had the chance to go hear former mayor Rudy Giuliani speak at a fundraiser for a local college and it was so much fun getting all dressed up – even though I’m starting to feel like a whale. There is just something about putting on a pretty dress that makes me feel good and impossible to quit smiling. It’s good for the soul to get dressed up every once in a while. Especially as a WAHM or SAHM.

We had a lovely time with our table which was made up of my brother, his girlfriend, my grandfather and a few of my cousins. We don’t get to hang out with them as much as I would like, so it was good to see and spend time with them. Also, how amazing is this maternity dress? Yes, it’s a maternity dress. I saw it online at PinkBlush Maternity and fell in love, so I was delighted when they sent it to me for this event! I usually wear black to these types of things, but it was fun to add a little color this time.
The food was great and the company was even better. We really enjoyed ourselves and having the opportunity to listen to such an amazing man speak. I truly can’t imagine what it was like being the mayor of NYC during 9/11. The pressure, stress, endurance, leadership, etc. I just can’t even fathom it.
In other news, we bought a new SUV! I did not end up going with the minivan, but it was honestly best for us and after looking at one, we both agreed. I am loving my new Enclave and have loved driving it around the last couple of days! This weekend, I will be packing my hospital bag, catching up on some work and doing a lot of cleaning and organizing. Aren’t you jealous? We are hitting crunch time for baby and moving, so it is time to get after it and start making progress on my never-ending to-do list!
