Happy Friday, loves! It is a new weekend and I am still on a high from scoring some great deals at our local consignment sale yesterday! I feel like it is going to be a great weekend of football and lots of catching up on laundry! We are also going to check on our house later today, so follow along on Snapchat (LoganCan) and I’ll share some photos/videos of the progress! For now, here are some of our current Friday favorites:
Third Trimester Essentials
I welcomed my third trimester with open arms two weeks ago! I am 30 weeks along but feeling more like I’m 35. The aches and pains have been in full force this week and I am definitely starting to feel more uncomfortable. I’m actually measuring smaller than I was with both my other pregnancies which is great, but the ligament pain has been so bad this week that I haven’t been able to workout like I normally do. So I hope that I don’t gain 15 pounds these last 2 months. The third trimester. A time when leg cramps wake you up at ungodly hours, your heartburn is that of an 80 year old man, you gain a lot of weight in a very small amount of time, you have a baby kicking you in the ribs at all hours of the day (and night) and everyone is telling you to enjoy the sleep while you can when you are secretly thinking that you haven’t slept in months already since “pregnancy brain.”
I’m feeling all of these symptoms and more, but I know that it will soon be over and I will miss this growing bump that my little boy and I have shared for the past few months.
It’s hard to believe this is my third time around, but here we are! I’m not sure if this is my last or not and I am not wanting to make any decisions about that any time soon. I am trying to enjoy every second of this pregnancy in case it is my last, but it has been challenging as it has been my toughest pregnancy by far.
Snack Ideas to Maintain a Healthy Weight During Pregnancy
I gained so much excess weight during my first pregnancy. I did better during my second, but I have been determined to maintain a healthy weight this go-around. The biggest issue I have is my sweet cravings. I have wanted sugar non-stop and it has been really hard to say no. The other day I searched healthy snack ideas and I finally found a solution! I can snack healthy and still have my sweet-tooth satisfied! Finding good snack ideas and choices is so easy if you know where to look!
Twenty Eight + PinkBlush Giveaway
It’s official! As of Monday, I said goodbye to my twenty-seventh year and hello to twenty-eight! If you know me, or have read my blog for a while, you know how big of a number person I am. I was born on 8-8-88, was 18in. long and weighed 5lbs. and 8 oz. (which is 88 ounces). I bet you can’t guess my lucky number! So, I’m obviously really excited to be 28! I’m not a huge fan of odd numbers and my 27th year was a little crazy. This next year, we will be welcoming a new baby boy and moving into our new home where we will share so many new memories with our growing family. I am beyond excited to see what all this year will bring. We have already been so blessed and I can’t imagine what’s in store for our future! Today, I wanted to celebrate by sharing one of my favorite maternity (and non-maternity) shops – PinkBlush! They have been a favorite of mine since my first pregnancy and continue to wow me with their maternity options. If you read to the end, there might even be a PinkBlush giveaway or something! 😉

26 Weeks Pregnant + #NSale Outfit
I am 26 weeks pregnant now, but I feel like I’m 32. Seriously. This baby feels a lot bigger than he actually is. Maybe it’s having my pregnancies so close together? I’m not sure, but this one has definitely been my toughest. I’ve been really sick again this week. I’m not sure if it is all the anxiety I’ve had lately or just the pregnancy making me so nauseous, but I’m hoping it passes very quickly.
Postpartum Essentials and How to Prepare for After Birth
This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #UBKForMe #CollectiveBias
As most of you know by now, we are expecting baby #3 the first week of November! As the days tick speedily by, I have started to feel the need to prepare for our new little arrival. Because we are in a weird situation this go around – living at my parents house while our home is being built (expected to be complete by November 1st) – getting ready for our little guy is a little bit more tricky. We will likely move the week he is due or immediately after I have him. So, the only way I know how to really prepare is by stocking up on the essentials. With my first baby, I was completely focused on the his nursery and other essentials that I forgot all about postpartum essentials for myself.
Second Trimester Must Haves
It’s really hard to believe that I am closer to the third trimester with my third baby. Some days, I still feel like I am getting over the shock of being pregnant again, and others I find myself dreaming of our little guys face and wishing time would speed up so I can finally meet him and yes, not be pregnant anymore. While I loved being pregnant my first and second time around, this one has been very different and a lot harder on my body. #3in3years Probably has something to do with that. ;/… So, now that I’m feeling like I’m a seasoned pro, here are some of my must haves for the second trimester!
Sunshine and Baby Bump
I think it is safe to say my baby bump has POPPED over the last couple of weeks. I definitely feel like I look 30 weeks pregnant rather than 24. As my stomach is rapidly growing, I have had to start pulling out my loose fitting tops and have busted out my maternity jeans. I remember with Hamp, I fought maternity everything, but when I gave in, it was the best decision I ever made. I love my maternity jeans. Over the next few weeks, I am going to share a few of my favorite fashions and stores to shop while pregnant. It can be so hard and frustrating watching your body change so much and gaining so much weight in a very short amount of time. I still think it is important to get up and get dressed because it makes you feel so much better. So, bare with me as I share my growing baby bump (and bootay).
23 Weeks Pregnant + Good News
I have been so excited since last Friday to write this post! You guys know I was put on moderate bedrest 5 weeks ago because of some bleeding and cramping and I was diagnosed with placenta previa. Let me back up and say that I started bleeding – a lot – Thursday night. I was freaking out because this was a lot more than just spotting. I could feel baby boy moving around like he was fine which was reassuring, but all the bleeding was scaring me. I went to the doctor first thing the next morning and they ordered an ultrasound…then a second ultrasound. They still have no idea where the bleeding was coming from. That has been a little unsettling, but they also informed me that the previa has completely resolved itself! At 23 weeks pregnant! Something they didn’t think would happen until my 8th month! I am BEYOND happy and I immediately started thanking God and haven’t stopped. That was the best news this girl could have ever been given.
My Pregnancy Skin Care Routine
During my pregnancy with Hampton, I caked shea butter on my stomach and hips every day, but still got stretch marks. With Sophie, I knew I wanted to try something different. I read on other blogs that some women were using coconut oil and thought I would give it a try! It worked wonders because I didn’t get any new stretch marks! Hallelujah! This pregnancy, my face has been breaking out like crazy. It’s disgusting and has been driving me insane. I knew I needed to do some research and make more of an effort as far as a pregnancy skin care routine if I wanted anything to change.
I came across TULA products and read wonderful things about them. TULA means “balance” in Sanskrit and they use probiotics in every product that nourish your body. I knew I wanted to try the purifying face scrub and revitalizing eye cream, for sure. The dark circles under my eyes have been terrible lately – probably due to my lack of sleep (hello, pregnancy insomnia). I have been using TULA products for a couple of weeks now and love them! I’m always nervous to try new skin care products because I am very picky, but I am so glad I tried these because I am a new fan.
My pregnancy skin care routine is simple. I wash my face and moisturize it every morning and every night right before bed. I put on the eye cream right before bed every night. I cake my stomach, hips, butt and legs in coconut oil multiple times a day (at least three) or every time I’m feeling dry/itchy.
That’s it! I have been able to tell a difference in my skin these last couple of weeks and I can’t wait to see how much it improves over time. There is no time like the present to get your skin under control – pregnant, or not! AmIright?
I received product for this post but opinions are my own.
