As you all know, I had my sweet baby boy 5 month ago. He is absolutely precious, but has not been the easiest baby. He is still not taking a bottle despite our constant efforts and that does not give me a whole lot of time to myself these days. I noticed my stress levels were high and my anxiety started creeping up again a few weeks ago and I knew I had to do something before it got out of hand. I want to give me babies and husband the best version of me and in order to do that, I have to take care of myself a little bit, too. Here are 5 things I do daily that have helped me be a better version of myself:

Drink a ton of water and then drink some more. – I have always drank a bunch of water, but I have been really focusing on it and drink around 100 oz. a day now. That is way more than half my body weight, but I am nursing and exercising again, so I go through the water. It helps my energy and also helps me feel better all around.

Exercise – this may be a strong word for what I do. I try to move every single day. Some days it is everything I can do just to hit 10,000 steps on my fitbit, but other days I feel good enough to run a couple of miles. I have been really listening to my body and am trying not to overdo it right now. Tucker is waking up 2 to 3 times a night, so I have to be careful and savor my energy some days. I love to do the Tone it Up workouts and have enjoyed doing a few of these each week so build muscle tone again. I have found that any movement feels a lot better than none, so even a walk around the block can make a world of a difference.

Quiet time – This has been essential to my mornings and starting my days off on the right foot. I spend about 10 minutes every morning reading a short devotional and having prayer time. It has done wonders for my mood and for my entire day. Giving the day over to God before it even starts has given me a great amount of peace. It also helps having those few minutes before the chaos of our day begins. I have loved going through this daily devotional book this year! They are short and sweet, but so good!

Eat Well – I am a firm believer in balance when it comes to EVERYTHING in life. Have fun, but also work hard. Eat healthy, but do have treats. You get what I’m saying. I have not done great since the first round of Faster Way to Fat Loss a few months ago and I am trying to get back in the habit of eating (mostly) clean. Now don’t get me wrong, we still have pizza on Fridays and we still have dessert every once in a while, but eating good foods that nourish my body makes a huge difference in the way I feel.

Plan and Execute – I read all the time how planning is everything, and it is unless you are super A.D.D. and get distracted all day long from that to-do list. I love to plan and am an avid list-maker, but when it comes to execution, I struggle. So, in order to do a better job of getting stuff done, I schedule everything that I do now. I give myself a certain amount of time to clean and do laundry, a certain amount of time to get ready, a specific time to do everything and if it doesn’t get done then it doesn’t get done. There is nothing I hate more than an unfinished task, so that is motivation enough for me to hustle during my windows. With that being said, I do cave out time to rest. Normally the kids go to bed around 7:30 and I give myself one hour to fold a load of laundry and get everything laid out for the next school day. Then I have my rest time from 8:30 – 9:45 which is when Ryan and I watch a show or read or just sit and talk. It is probably my favorite hour of the day because it is peaceful and relaxing. I then feed Tucker one more time and we go to bed around 10:30 so that we get plenty of sleep (well, depending on baby T ;)).

What do you do every day that makes your life better?

Happy Friday! I am so ready for the long weekend! We are planing to grill out with friends, swim and relax a little bit before everything starts back this coming week! We have been trying to get used to our new routine this year and I am officially in the two drop offs and two pick ups club! haha Looks like I will be there for the long haul, too. The silver lining is that PSLs are back and I had my first one (of many) this week! I am a huge fan of all things pumpkin and because I was so sick during my pregnancy last year, I didn’t get to enjoy any. This year, I am trying to make up for that lost caffeine! haha

Today I thought it would be fun to share my top ten sellers from August! Because the NSALE was still going on, a few of the top sellers were from that, but one thing is for sure: you guys are still loving Amazon! I will be sharing a new round up of Amazon favorite nest week, so stay tuned for that! I am also going to be posting Labor Day sales in my Instagram stories and will post a big round up of sales on the blog on Monday for all of you holiday shoppers! Have a great weekend!

Top Ten Sellers in August:

10. Amazon Snakeskin Paperbag shorts
9. Amazon Maxi Dress
8. Leopard Cardigan
7. Amazon Swimsuit
6. Camo Jumpsuit
5. Target Cardigan
4. Zella Leggings as of yesterday, this pullover tied for 4th! 50% off!
3. Silk Pillowcase

What you missed on Instagram this week:

I shared my big H&M try on in stories this week and this was by far my favorite outfit. I posted my full try on here as well! See outfit details here!

This sweater is perfect for my favorite leggings and it is currently on major sale + comes in a ton of colors! I am wearing my true size. Also, these booties were the top seller for the entire month of August! See all outfit details here!

My baby boy turned 5 months old yesterday! To say time is flying is an understatement. I blinked and he is already nearly half a year old. It gets faster with each child, but this has been the fastest by far. I am trying to soak it all in and enjoy every second! He also kept through the night for the first time, so we felt that was a milestone worth celebrating!

I will be sharing a huge round up of Labor Day Sales tomorrow here on the blog, but be sure to follow me in the LTK app because I have already started posting sale picks from each retailer there – like this pullover that was a best seller yesterday! It is currently 50% off and has been a top seller every fall for the last 2 years! I love the new colors this year!

Have a great weekend and I’ll see you back here tomorrow for all the sales!

H&M Try On:

Seven Years. It has been SEVEN years and one month since I published my first blog post. I started before scheduling a post was a thing. Before Instagram. Before anyone really knew much about blogging in general. I can still name a handful of the girls that were also blogging and that I talked to back then and all but one are still blogging and successful to this day. I started back when I was going through infertility. Maybe some of you remember reading about that a long time ago, but for the newbies, that is basically why I started. We had been married nearly one year, decided to start trying and then ran into some issues and it was a very dark time for me, so to distract myself, I started writing. It was so helpful and gave me an amazing outlet during that time but I never would have imagined it would turn into what it is today and I have you to thank for that.

To me, you all feel like old friends. I feel like I can talk freely to you and that you care. I love to talk about fashion and babies and marriage with you guys. I love to celebrate wins with you and cry with you over losses. You have been here through nearly my entire marriage and through all four of my babies (God is so good).

I want to be transparent now. A few weeks ago, I confessed to Ryan that I wasn’t happy with my blog. I haven’t grown much over the last couple of years despite hard work and effort. I have started doing more fashion related content and while I do love fashion and have a huge passion for it, there is so much more to my life and at the end of the day, my closet is a tiny, tiny fraction of that. My kids and family and friends are my world. I love to read and write and I miss doing that. It is therapeutic for me and I haven’t just sat down to write in a very long time – until now.

With that being said, I wanted you to know that I am planning to share a lot more marriage and family content on here again. I am planning to get back to recipes, sharing our life, motivation, a little fitness (more on this soon) and more! I am sorry for getting so off track lately, but to be honest, fashion is easy. People love to see it on Instagram and it is easier to sit down for 20 minutes to throw a try-on post together rather than an hour or two working on a well-written post. Now that the kids have started school and we are getting into a new routine, I am planning to sit and write every single day. I don’t promise a post every day, but will try to be more consistent in posting Monday, Wednesday and Fridays again. I am sorry for being super inconsistent over the past 5 months, but honestly, life since having Tucker has been very demanding. I am working on getting back to a healthier me and a healthier routine which starts with this. And water. And movement.

I will continue to share fashion throughout – maybe once a week or so, but for the most part, I want to get back to blogging. Really writing and connecting with you all, because that is why I started this in the beginning and what I love to do most of all. Thank you for sticking around and sticking with me through the craziness of life.

Now, I would love it if you would let me know what kind of fall content you want to see from me this upcoming season! Let me know in the comments or shoot me an email! Thank you for hanging out with me over the last seven years. It is truly humbling and I am so thankful for each and every one of you! Until next time…

xoxo

I know, I know, I’m back with another Old Navy try on, but y’all voted for more Old Navy on stories by a landslide, so this time I am sharing full on fall pieces instead of just transitional pieces because I have been very excited to start sharing some sweaters! I am also excited to share two tops that work really well with the Spanx faux leather leggings that several of you purchased during the NSALE this year! Keep scrolling and make sure to read the sizing information because a couple of things run small. Now I’m ready for fall…if only the weather would get there!

We are starting school this week and I am having all the feelings, y’all! My oldest baby is off to kindergarten and I had no idea that I would be this emotional about it. While it is an emotional time, we are very excited for this new chapter and already love his school and the people there so much. So many of our close friends and some of our family go there, so I know we will feel right at home there. I asked you ladies on Instagram the other day what you liked to pack in your kid’s lunch because I am trying to branch out a little bit this year (at least for the first part until I totally resign and stick to PB&J every day). Some of your ideas were really great, so I thought I would share them to give you guys some ideas if you get stuck like I do.

Lunch Ideas:

The most common answer was a sandwich!
Chicken Salad and crackers
Salad with fruit
Hotdog
Waffles and Bacon (Breakfast Food)
Turkey Wraps
Pasta Salad
Spaghetti
Chicken Nuggets
Leftovers from the night before (I am PRO this idea)
Soup
Cheese and Crackers
Pizza

Lunch Sides and Snacks:

Grapes
Apple slices
Carrot sticks
Pretzels
Veggies and hummus (or ranch)
Almonds
Pumpkin seeds
Bananas
Chips
Yogurt
Apple Sauce
Cheese Stick
Popcorn
Teddy Grahams
Granola Bars

There are a couple of kids in Sophie’s class who are highly allergic to peanuts and dairy, so we are trying to get creative with the lunches she can take. It’s tough because she loves PB&J sandwiches and is not a big meat eater. We are going to try this peanut butter substitute and I will report back with how she likes it!

I hope this list was helpful. Please let me know if you have any other ideas that I can add to this list for everyone! If you have already started school, I hope it is off to a great start, and if you are starting back this week, I will be standing there holding tissues with you praying for our babies to spread their wings and fly. Okay, now that I am getting cheesy and cliche, I’m calling it a day.

I have been very excited to share these recent finds from Old Navy and since sharing these, I took advantage of their sale and grabbed a few other things that I will share soon with y’all! I love shopping at Old Navy during the fall season! They have some really great pieces and their sale prices are so good! If you add a denim jacket, these would all be very teacher appropriate. I hope you enjoy these outfits I put together for you!

Striped Tee (TTS) // Linen Pants (TTS) // Leopard flats (Sized up half a size) // Cardigan

Leopard Dress (TTS)

Plaid Dress (TTS) // Leopard flats

Tunic (TTS – I sized up to a Medium for added length)// Leggings (Not Old Navy – fit TTS) // Leopard flats

I went into Target the other day to grab some soap and baby stuff and somehow ended up trying on a ton of clothes! I am loving their fall line! They have some really great pieces at amazing prices. I especially loved seeing that our Target store has a breastfeeding room with plugs for a pump and comfortable chairs. Way to go, Target! I hope you enjoy this impromptu Target try on!

Plaid Top – TTS Wearing Medium // Cardigan – TTS Wearing Medium (comes in several colors) // Shorts (Not Target – Size up one)

Button Front Top – Wearing Medium but needed Small, runs big. Buttons ARE functional!

Camo Jumpsuit – Runs big, wearing Small // Cardigan – TTS Wearing Medium // Sandals (not Target – Size up half a size)

Plaid Tank – TTS (this came home with me! Buttons are functional!) // Cardigan – TTS Wearing Medium

Leopard Top – Runs Small, wearing Medium. If in between sizes, I’d size up.

Plaid Top – TTS Wearing Medium – not online yet // Beige Cardigan – TTS // Brown Cardigan – TTS

Gray Pullover – TTS, Wearing Medium // Striped Top – TTS Wearing Medium – Both of these tops are so soft and cozy.

Sweater Top – TTS, Wearing Medium. I regret not getting this and will probably order it online. It is so soft.

Sweater Tank – TTS, Wearing Small but needed Medium – Buttons ARE Functional! // Cardigan – TTS, wearing Medium

That’s a wrap! I plan to go back again soon and try on Athletic wear and Loungewear because they had some really cute things!

Growing up, back to school shopping was always my favorite thing to do. I loved preparing for the year and picking out new shoes and clothes and backpacks, etc. It was like Christmas. This year, Hampton is starting Kindergarten, Sophie will be in K4 and Weston will be starting MMO for the first time. We have been shopping for all the back to school supplies, clothes, shoes and everything else they need this year, so I thought I would put a few of my favorite finds into a post for y’all! I even included a section for teachers or working moms! I am dying over these LV dupe lunch boxes and backpack!

I hope you all have a great start to your school year and that this post is helpful in your back to school shopping! Everything is Amazon prime and ships in 2 days if you are last minute shopping(like me ;))
